Concord Lodge Members are actively engaged in various charitable initiatives within the local community. These philanthropic endeavors exemplify Concord Lodge’s dedication to serving the community, a tradition upheld since its establishment in 1915.
Notably, the Lodge is currently sponsoring five members to participate in the “100 Men Who Give a Dam Oceanside” initiative, which helps contribute to numerous charities, alternating which charity receives its support.
Additionally, Concord Lodge demonstrates its commitment to education each year through the awarding of annual bursaries to students at Parksville and Qualicum High Schools, helping to support local youth and enable additional academic opportunities.
In 2023, the Lodge successfully embarked on a fundraising campaign for the purchase two specialized beds for the Oceanside Hospice in order to enhance the comfort and care provided to its patients.
Members of Concord Lodge also pay tribute to those heroes who decided to make the ultimate sacrifice for their country in order that we may have a better life. Each year, members of Concord Lodge participate in the annual Parksville Remembrance Day parade, assist the Salvation Army with donation collection through the operation of their Christmas Kettles, and honourably lay wreaths at locations in Parksville, Qualicum Beach, and Bowser on Remembrance Day.
